Canes in Cannes

DAY THREE

IMG_6798.jpeg

After our late night, we got croissants and coffee at La Boulangerie down the street before taking a shuttle to Antibes. We had lunch at Le Golden Beef, which wasn’t great, but the scenic walk along the coastline afterward made up for the not so good food. The view was unforgettable, almost like a movie, and the town along the coast was very cute and quaint.

Next, we visited the Picasso Museum, where we got to see where he created many of his works. Patricia, our knowledgeable but also very funny tour guide, described one painting where Picasso painted over a portrait of a man eating a sea urchin to make a statement about poverty. I was fascinated by Picasso's obsession with goats, which appeared in many of his pieces. I gained a new appreciation for art as Patricia encouraged us to examine the details and understand what Picasso was trying to convey. I used to think art was less interesting to look at until I visited the museum.

Later, we took the bus to Nice, explored Old Nice, and visited a thrift market and some famous sights. We stopped for a quick Italian lunch and then got gelato from a famous shop called Fennochio's—shoutout to Olivia’s recommendation! It was SO GOOD! After that, we returned to the bus, went home, and had an early night in to study for the Who’s Who test.
