SHOULD I GO?

YES YES YES!!! 1000% YES!!! This trip was the experience of a lifetime. I gained more knowledge and experience from going to the festival than I did in some of the classes I took last semester. The people you meet, the places you see, the talks you attend, the food you eat, all of it is seriously unbeatable. The excursions were incredible and I was able to see places that my parents or friends haven't even been to. Cannes has delicious food, one-of-a-kind shopping and beautiful beaches. Most importantly, the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity was life-changing. From the celebrities to CEO's, the networking is at a higher level than most college students will ever get the chance to experience. There was one day where I had a twenty minute conversation with MJ Day (Editor in Chief of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit) and then the next day my friends and I were hanging out with Kenan Thompson (SNL) at an afterparty. Additionally, I wrote all my main takeaways from the talks into my journal that guaranteed I will be referring back to throughout my career. The festival is focussed on future trends in the industry and after attending I feel at an advantage knowing these new trends going into my job search. Lastly, the friendships I made on this trip are ones I will carry forever, you will form close bonds and make amazing memories with the group, including your Professor Blau and Sami Frankel (our TA).

The tuition is expensive, the flight is long, and attending an abroad program with mostly strangers are intimidating factors, but I would do it all over again just to go back. The pros outweigh the cons by miles and I could not have asked for a better, more rewarding experience.
